What Franchise - Issue 21.2

easyStorage boasts a franchise model that empowers local partners to grow strong businesses while supporting the communities around them. Nowwith a waiting list of prospective franchisees, the brand is set for further sustainable growth easyStorage launched in 2017 and has grown rapidly thanks to a franchise network that combines proven processes with the strength of the easy® brand. One of the most impressive examples of this success is the story of franchise partners Alan Kerrison and James Meddick, the 2025 Franchise of the Year winners for Bath, Bristol and Cheltenham. Joining the network in May 2023, they followed the easyStorage blueprint and delivered consistent month-on-month growth from day one. Less than a year after launching, in April 2024 they opened their second venture – easyContainer Bristol. Today, Alan and James have more than doubled their annual turnover, now exceeding £1.2 million. They operate both Drop & Store and Collect & Store services, are over a year into running their first Drive-Up Self Storage facility, and are already exploring a second site. What began as a low-investment franchise has grown into a multi-million-pound enterprise, built on hard work, a strong partnership, and the support of the easyStorage team. “Joining the easyStorage franchise has complemented our existing business perfectly,” says Alan Kerrison. “The model is clean, scalable, and simple to adopt – and the support from the team has been excellent. It’s allowed us to grow far beyond the aspirations we once had.” The network is equally proud of its growing community work. Since December 2024, easyStorage has supported the Trussell Trust by providing storage capacity for foodbanks across England. The initiative was inspired by a conversation between CEOTim Slesinger and a Richmond foodbank manager who highlighted storage as their biggest challenge. Backed by Sir Stelios and easyGroup, who also donated £1 million worth of tinned food, the partnership has continued to expand. Through its annual conference raffle, franchisees raised over £4,000 for the Trussell Trust, and in 2025 alone the network provided more than £10,000 worth of storage support for the charity. In addition, easyStorage is launching a new partnership with Cash for Kids, piloting warehouse and storage assistance in Central England. This initiative aims to help extend the charity’s family support programmes into London, with plans for a new checkout feature enabling customers to donate directly. Thanks to strong demand and a growing reputation, easyStorage will not be exhibiting at the British Franchise Show this year after five successful years. With a waiting list of prospective franchisees, the brand is no longer actively recruiting new partners. However, occasional resale opportunities do arise, and interested buyers can register at easyStorage.com/franchise.
