uardian Angel Carers was founded by double Olympian sailor Christina Handasyde Dick, who was recently awarded an MBE for her services to care. Inspired by her grannies’ care experiences, both good and bad, she established the company 15 years ago. It has since grown to a head office, three branches, and 16 franchises across England andWales. Stephen Ashe, who recently established a franchise in Eastleigh and Hedge End, Hampshire is typical only in as much as there is no typical Guardian Angel Carers franchisee. Stephen was a police detective in his former career, and his business partner had a background in the energy industry. Other Guardian Angel Carers franchisees’ backgrounds reveal a similar diversity, encompassing the Royal Air Force, hospitality, financial services, HR, professional rugby and the NHS, amongst other sectors. As Christina says, “We have a very clear set of values as a franchise owner, and provide specialist training, support and guidance from head office. But, just as important, is our peer support network, which gives new franchisees the most incredible variety of skills, expertise and experience to draw on.” What led Stephen to become a Guardian Angel Carers franchisee? “A passion for helping the local community and making a difference,” says Stephen. “Plus, with the ageing population, care is a growing sector where we can make a real impact in people’s lives.” “One of the best parts of running a Guardian Angel Carers franchise that people don’t necessarily expect is the deep sense of fulfilment that comes from seeing the positive impact we make – not just for our clients but also for their family and our carers,” he continues. “Whether it’s helping a client maintain their independence, supporting a family through a difficult time, or creating a positive and fulfilling workplace for our carers, it’s an incredibly rewarding and humbling experience that gives a deep sense of purpose.” Stephen adds that Guardian Angel Carers’ vision filters down to employees too. “Seeing our carers feel valued, supported and proud of their work proves our belief that ‘a happy carer leads to a happy client’.” What are the main advantages to belonging to the Guardian Angel Carers network? As far as Stephen is concerned, there’s no regrets to becoming a Guardian Angel Carers franchisee. “Being part of the Guardian Angel Carers network has been invaluable,” he comments. “As a business owner, having the support of an experienced franchise team, along with the shared knowledge of other franchisees, has helped navigate challenges and continuously improve the care we provide. On a personal level, it has reinforced the importance of resilience, leadership, and compassion.” Contact [email protected] 03333 660550 G Established: 2012 Number of franchised outlets: 16 Locations of units: Nationwide FRANCH I SE OVERV I EW Guardian Angel Carers: a growing business in a growing sector C A R E S E R V I C E S Guardian Angel Carers welcomes franchisees from all walks of life.
