UK franchises shine on the global stage It was a big night for UK franchising at this year’s Global Franchise Awards, held during the IFA’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas 01 Recognising the best franchises in the world The Travel Franchise was awarded Best Lifestyle Franchise in theWorld and Best European Franchise at the prestigious Global Franchise Awards 2025, held on February 11 at Mandalay Bay in LasVegas. Organised by Global Franchise,What Franchise’s sister brand, the awards celebrate international franchising excellence, recognising brands that stand out for their growth, innovation, and franchisee support. A distinguished assembly of the industry’s top innovators gathered to mark their achievements at the event, presented by Jack Monson, CEO of Brand J and host of the Social Geek podcast.Winners across 23 categories were selected by an independent panel of esteemed franchise professionals and association leaders. 03 The Travel Franchise’s big win Co-founder Paul Harrison, who accepted the award at the star- studded ceremony, founded the company in 2001 alongside business partner SteveWitt. Reflecting on the achievement, he said: “What started as a dream to give anyone the opportunity to become home-based travel consultants has grown into a multi-million-pound powerhouse with more than 720 UK franchises. Now, the business is not just seen as the UK’s leading franchise for people new to travel but is officially recognised as one of the top franchises in the world.” Speaking from LasVegas, Paul Harrison added: “This award is a huge testament to the hard work of our incredible team and the amazing franchisees we’ve supported along the way. We’ve built a business that isn’t just about booking holidays; it’s about changing lives.” 04 Global recognition The IFA, the world’s largest franchise association, partners with the awards, with an independent panel of CEOs, presidents, and franchise experts judging the entries. The Travel Franchise stood out for its innovative business model, which allows individuals – many with no prior experience in travel – to launch their own businesses with maximum flexibility and support. Judges highlighted its Money-Back Challenge, which offers franchisees a refund on their initial fee if they hit a set commission target in their first year – a unique initiative helping franchisees succeed from day one. 05 UK franchises make an impact Several other UK brands also caught the attention of the international panel, with Kaspas, The Little Gym, and InXpress receiving Highly Commended awards in their respective categories. Other major winners included Snap Fitness, Gong cha, and Signarama, all brands with a strong UK presence and exciting opportunities for UK investors. 02 ERAGroup’s triple victory ERA Group had a standout night, taking home three major wins and reaffirming its position as a global leader in cost management franchising.With a thriving UK network, ERA Group has become the go-to franchise for businesses looking to streamline costs and boost profitability. It won the Global Franchise Grand Champion award, Best Business & Professional Services Franchise (its fifth win in eight years), and Regional Champion – Americas, reflecting its impressive expansion in the region.
