It’s been a successful seven years, with Nigel becoming a key person in supporting rookie franchisees. Now, as his franchise agreement comes to an end, he opens up about his decision to renew with the brand. Why are you renewing your franchise agreement? Nigel: I personally have expanded my skillset and knowledge base tremendously which has contributed enormously to the growth of the Warrington franchise. I also enjoy the positive work-life balance that running the franchise has given me. As part of the development of the business I’m building a good team with a growth mindset, integrity, and customer focus. I look forward to continuing building on this in the next 10 years. How is the franchise model suited to you? The Jackson Fire & Security franchise model provides a fantastic opportunity to run a branch supporting local companies. Running my own business is what I want to do. The combination of providing an important service to local businesses and the technical aspect of fire and security systems is an ideal match for me. The potential for the growth in profitability and size means renewal of the franchise agreement right now is an absolute no-brainer for me. What’s the main advantage here for you? The Jackson brand and the website supports each franchisee and demonstrates being part of a larger organisation. The need to have industry accreditations is highly important and sets franchisees apart from their local competition. Our supplier partnerships with companies like Siemens and Orisec will help keep the franchise competitive and profitable ensuring everyone is providing the highest quality of equipment. Franchise models tend to develop over time. What changes have you noticed during your tenure? The development of the Franchise Support Team has been excellent and is allowing the franchisees to spend more time on growing their businesses. For example, the quality manager assisting with compliance and auditing takes a big headache away from us. What’s next for the franchise following your renewel? The investment and development of the new service management software is exciting and will allow us to streamline our customer experience further while reducing admin tasks for our franchisees. The potential the software has to make our service levels stand out against our competition is huge.
